Eugene Sledge
Historian and author Saul David introduces Eugene Sledge, a prominent character in Devil Dogs. His memoir is considered one of the best accounts of the Pacific campaign but few people have seen his handwritten letters home, which give a poignant, personal account of the Marines' experience. History Makers will be sharing these with members and they will form a central part of our film.
