Rome’s Forgotten War
In 29BC Rome launched a war against the Cantabrians - a rebel mountain tribe in northern Spain. Caesar Augustus led this campaign in person, together with his general, Marcus Agrippa, but it still took them ten years to subdue these dogged warrior tribes. Now, archaeologists are unearthing vast amounts of evidence and piecing together - for the first time - the entire history of this conflict. The wealth of unseen archaeology in this story is so compelling that we plan to turn it into a documentary film.
